At Statistics Canada, we hire the best and the brightest individuals with the necessary academic and technical qualifications. To help our recruits achieve a successful, rewarding career at StatCan, we have developed a number of Recruitment and Development Programs with them in mind.
In these programs, recruits participate in a combination of training sessions and workplace rotations so they can learn new skills, gain relevant work experience and acquire knowledge about Statistics Canada.
The training component of our Recruitment and Development Programs introduces our new employees to Statistics Canada—what we do, and how we do it. Recruits get the specialized, comprehesive training and tools they need to perform effectively and to succeed. This can include in-house training at the Statistics Canada Training Institute, on-the-job training, mentoring sessions, as well as off-site training.
The rotation component of our Recruitment and Development Programs let recruits assume diverse assignments. Through these workplace rotations, recruits quickly gain knowledge about how StatCan works. Recruits also find the rotation process useful for making informed decisions about their individual career paths at StatCan.
Currently, we offer Recruitment and Development Programs for the following subject matter areas:
