The search brochure illustrates twelve ways searching just got easier using the Statistics Canada search engine.
12 ways your search just got easier
Search features
- Latest/All – Search only the latest information, or select All
- Search by category – refine your search by selecting one or more categories (located in the left-hand navigation of institutional links)
- Try also – try other related terms to search by (located after the search entry button for certain terms such as: “population estimates”)
- Suggested links – get the latest and most popular information related to your search terms (located after the search entry button for certain terms such as: “population estimates”)
- View HTML or PDF – link to the HTML, PDF or catalogue description (located within the search results list of catalogue products)
- Sort by date – get the most relevant (default) or the most recent information (located before the search results list)
- Navigation trail – use these links to change categories (located before the search results list when the Search by category feature is used)
- Highlighting – spot search terms in your results (located within the search results list)
- Advanced search – refine your search results with more options (located after the search button)
