Women in Canada are among the most educated in the world
In Canada, 65% of women aged 25 to 64 had a college or university qualification in 2019, compared with an average of 41% among countries of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

Women make up almost half estimates on July 1st, by age and sex of the workforce
In 2020, 48% of the Canadian workforce aged 25 to 54 were women.

Women and girls account for just over half of the population in Canada
As of July 1, 2021, women and girls accounted for 50.3% of Canada’s total population.

Women and girls in Canada are diverse
In 2016, almost one in four women and girls (23%) belonged to groups designated as visible minorities.
In the same year, Indigenous women and girls made up 5% of the total population of women and girls in Canada.
