This survey collects information on the capital expenditures of the Canadian oil and gas extraction industry. This information is required for inclusion in the quarterly estimations of investments in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), for the System of National Accounts. GDP data are used by private industry in decision-making as well as by various associations, industry analysts, and federal and provincial departments and agencies to assess the strength of the Canadian economy.
Your information may also be used by Statistics Canada for other statistical and research purposes. In addition, information from partially completed or unsaved questionnaires may be retained and used.

- Q1 2024: From April 2 to May 13, 2024
- Q2 2024: From June 28 to August 9, 2024
- Q3 2024: From October 3 to November 12, 2024
- Q4 2024: From January 2 to February 14, 2025
