The Architectural, Engineering and Related Services Price Index (AESPI) showed no change in the fourth quarter, following a 0.3% increase in the previous quarter.

Prices for engineering services, the largest component of the AESPI, showed no change from the previous quarter.

Prices for architectural and landscape architectural services increased by 0.3% in the fourth quarter, and were offset by lower prices in surveying and mapping services (-0.2%).

Year-over-year change

Year over year, the AESPI rose 0.8% as a result of higher prices for architectural and landscape architectural services (+2.1%), surveying and mapping services (+0.8%) and engineering services (+0.6%).

The Architectural, Engineering and Related Services Price Index is a quarterly survey that collects information on the prices of architectural, engineering, surveying and mapping services.

With each release, data for the previous quarter may have been revised. Data are also subject to an annual revision with the release of second quarter data of the following reference year. The index is not seasonally adjusted. Data are available at the Canada level only.
