Canada's youth represent about one-quarter of the country's population and they are highly diverse. Youth are more educated than ever and more socially connected online than any other generation. Yet, some youth face challenges, such as finding a full-time job, social exclusion, and mental health challenges.

Relatively little is known about how the health, behaviour, and social activities of Canadian youth are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. About 4 in 10 youth aged 15 to 30 years reported excellent or very good mental health during the COVID-19 period. Given their unique characteristics, they may experience the crisis differently than older adults.

This article presents the most pressing concerns expressed by Canadian youth aged 15 to 30 years regarding the impact of COVID-19 and the kinds of activities they engage in for their mental or physical health.
