A new report "Mortality and morbidity related to fire, burns and carbon monoxide poisoning among First Nations people, Métis and Inuit: Findings from the 2011 Canadian Census Health and Environment Cohort," prepared by the Centre for Indigenous Statistics and Partnerships, is now available.
This report was prepared for, and sponsored by, the National Indigenous Fire Safety Council. The study uses data from the 2011 Canadian Census Health and Environment Cohort to produce mortality and hospitalization rates relating to fire, burns and carbon monoxide poisoning among First Nations people, Métis and Inuit and compares it to the non-Indigenous rates.
