Data
The data used to create this interactive web application is from the following listed data tables and may include additional variables or details not presented in the visuals:
- Fewer vulnerable individuals living in poverty
- Statistics Canada. Table 11-10-0136-01 Low income statistics by economic family type
- Statistics Canada. Table 11-10-0093-01 Poverty and low-income statistics by selected demographic characteristics
The indicator "Proportion of persons in poverty and low income by demographic characteristics" is not part the Gender Results Framework. It provides additional context and complements the existing data on Prevalence of low income by economic family type. - Fewer women and children living in food-insecure households
- Statistics Canada. Table 13-10-0834-01 Food insecurity by economic family type
- Statistics Canada. Table 13-10-0835-01 Food insecurity by selected demographic characteristics
The indicator "Proportion of individuals living in households that are food insecure by demographic characteristics" is not part the Gender Results Framework. It provides additional context and complements the existing data on Proportion of individuals living in households that are food insecure, by economic family type. - Fewer vulnerable individuals lacking stable, safe and permanent housing
- Child and spousal support orders are enforced

- Statistics Canada. Table 35-10-0123-01 Maintenance enforcement programs, payment collection rates, by sex of payor
The indicators "Annual payment collection rates for children and spousal support by age and sex of payor" and "Annual payment collection rates for children and spousal support by sex of payor and province and territory" are provided to offer users the ability to compare payment collection rates across different demographics and regions. These indicators are not part of the Gender Results Framework but are included under the "Child and Spousal Support Orders Enforced" theme within the "Poverty Reduction, Health and Well-being" pillar. - More years in good health

Additional information
Balancing confidentiality and gender data dissemination
To maintain the balance between disseminating as much gender-based data as possible and preserving confidentiality, some information from the 2021 Census is released at higher levels of geography using a three-category gender variable with the following categories:
- men (cisgender and transgender)
- women (cisgender and transgender)
- non-binary persons.
Or using a five-category classification of cisgender, transgender and non-binary populations. This is a derived variable that uses both three-category gender and sex at birth:
- cisgender men
- cisgender women
- transgender men
- transgender women
- non-binary persons.
Given that the non-binary population is small, when necessary, a statistical method producing a two-category gender variable is applied to prevent disclosure of identifiable data for lower levels of geography.
Consequently, in these cases, information will be disseminated using the following categories:
- men+
- women+.
Individuals in the "non-binary persons" category are distributed in the other two gender categories and are denoted by the "+" symbol.
