Meet me at the park

It’s been a long winter, but at last, the beginnings of summer have come to greet us. From coast to coast to coast, lawn chairs are being taken out, barbecues are being fired up and gardens starting to bloom. While some of us can stroll out into our backyards to bask in the sunshine, many urban dwellers rely on public outdoor spaces to get their fix of vitamin D. In 2019, 9 in 10 Canadian households lived within 10 minutes of a park or public green space. Of these households, 85% had visited the park or green space in the previous year. Whether you’re stuck in the city or the suburbs, the sun is shining and the birds are chirping—so why not hit your local park before this beautiful green grass disappears under a blanket of white?
