Statistics Canada has launched its first data collection app, Vitali-T-Stat, to collect data for the Pilot Study on Everyday Well-being (PSEW). The app, available for download to all Canadians aged 15 and older, will collect data for the PSEW until March 31, 2022.

Developed in partnership with the Canada Council for the Arts and Canadian Heritage, the survey aims to help us better understand the factors that influence the well-being of Canadians, particularly when it comes to arts and culture, and help improve the quality of life of all Canadians.

The COVID-19 pandemic has no doubt had a significant impact on the physical, emotional and mental well-being of Canadians. With the click of a few buttons, participants can help contribute to a better understanding of the factors that promote emotional and mental resilience and can help improve the quality of life of all Canadians.

How does it work?

From your mobile device, the app will send notifications at random times throughout the day (based on your preferences), asking a few short questions about your activities and well-being. Participants will be able to access their own real-time data!
